The University School of Law & Legal Studies celebrated Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas) on 26th November,2019 in Room no.412, C-block, GGSIPU. The programme started with preamble recitation in Hindi and English by law students (including BALLB, PhD Scholars) and faculty members. It was followed with administrative pledge to Fundamental Duties taken by all attendees of the event. Prof. Kanwal DP Singh, Dean, USLLS gave introductory note to the occasion of Constitution Day to all the participants and attendees of the event and also introduce the chief guest of the event (Justice SN Srivastava, Retired High Court of Allahabad & Pramukh Lokayukta, Chattisgarh). Justice SN Srivastava delivered a lecture on the topic “The Spirit of Constitutionalism” to the students of USLLS and also discussed the significance of preamble and fundamental duties of the Constitution. He encouraged law students to participate in different activities of the National Campaign of the Constitution Day starting from 26th November,2019 to 14th April,2020 including debate, essay competitions, quiz and related activities which is associated with fundamental duties. Prof. Amarpal Singh gave vote of thanks and also discussed the historical significance of constitution and constitution assembly debates. The event was followed with two quiz on the subject of fundamental duties and civil procedure code.
