NSS Units 1 and 2 of Yenepoya Medical College observed the 70th Constitution Day on 22nd November, 2019. The programme was conducted at Lecture Hall-4 of Yenepoya Medical College. Dr. Akshaya KM and Dr. Pracheth R, NSS Programme Officers of Yenepoya Medical College were the key organizers. Dr. Ashwini Shetty, NSS Coordinator, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) facilitated the smooth conduct of the programme. Dr. Satish Gowda N, Senior Faculty of Law and NSS Coordinator, Bangalore University was the Chief Guest. Dr. CV Raghuveer, Pro Vice Chancellor (Yenepoya Deemed to be University) presided over the programme and Dr. MS Moosabba, Dean/Principal, Yenepoya Medical College graced the occasion. The programme began at 2.00 pm with invocation by Mr. Mohammed Ibadh, MBBS Student, 2017 Batch, Yenepoya Medical College, after which, Dr. Akshaya KM welcomed the gathering. The dignitaries then lighted the lamp. Dr. Ashwini Shetty then introduced the Chief Guest to the gathering. Dr. Satish Gowda then gave his remarks which was followed by Dr. MS Moosabba’s remarks about the Constitution Day. Dr. CV Raghuveer then delivered the presidential address. Dr. Pracheth R proposed the Vote of Thanks. Ms. Farha, MBBS Student, 2016 Batch, Yenepoya Medical College compered the programme. The inaugural programme was followed by a Guest Lecture by Dr. Satish Gowda N who spoke about importance of constitution, human rights and right to health under Constitution of India. The lecture concluded at 3.45 pm which was followed by refreshments. Senior faculty from the Department of Community Medicine, NSS volunteers and students from 2016 Batch, MBBS, Yenepoya Medical College were present amongst the audience.
